Comic Summary: Five years from now, a man lies near death in a room. He recalls how it all began 24 hours earlier. The Director goes to the cell, where he stops his troops from torturing Logan, as he still thinks that they are partners, thanks to the hallucinations in his head. The Director asked his men to put the guns away and release Logan. They do, and Logan took advantage of the situation by killing all of the guards, including the Director! Six years from now, the Director is revealed alive. He managed to convince Mesmero and Wild Child to rejoin his case and, armed with army of Sentinels, they attacked the X-Mansion! While the X-Men were fighting the Sentinels, Sauron and Mesmero managed to sneak in the mansion unnoticed, and combine their hypnotic powers to mind-control Xavier, and now threaten to kill him. The X-Men had no choice but to surrender. Wolverine arrives, but the Director calms him down after threatening to kill Logan’s friend, Shadowcat, instead. Logan withdraws his claws, but the Director kills Kitty anyway! The Sentinels shoot at Logan, and he flies across the yard. Once the Director and his agents made it out of the mansion, the Sentinels blow it up entirely, with the X-Men still inside! But, since the Sentinels were programmed to kill all the mutants, they also kill Mesmero and Wild Child, despite the Director’s wishes not to. Sauron is left alive, since he isn’t really a mutant. The Director orders Sauron to clean up things, while the Director goes to gloat over Wolverine’s body. The Director is fully aware that Logan isn’t truly dead, and that his healing factor will kick in sooner or later and recover him. And when that time comes, the Director is ready for him. He walks away, leaving Logan’s corpse, with part of his adamantium skeleton revealed.

Comic Summary: First Story: Years ago, at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, Logan made his way to Professor Charles Xavier’s office for another attempt at regaining his memory. This time, it worked using a method that included Logan and Xavier entering Logan’s mind together. Once inside Logan’s mind, they enter a room that is blocked off from the rest of it. After the creative use of his claws, Logan breaks through the wall and they enter another section of his mind that houses many of his past memories. Eventually, they encounter Sabretooth. After a brief tussle, Logan discovers that he’s not real and is shown a memory of him being taking into custody by three men years ago. When Logan asks to know more, Sabretooth shows him a military facility and tells him that he’ll find his answers there. Upon Xavier and he entering the facility, Logan comes across a room where he is in a holding tank with wires coming out of him and three scientists observing him. Second Story: In a remote section of Canada, Sabretooth gets an invitation to meet someone. When he does, the man tries to convince him to join his cause and make something more of him self. When Sabretooth tells him that he’s not interested and to find somebody else, the man informs him that he already has and shows him Logan’s file. Enraged, Sabretooth goes after the man. He is unsuccessful in his attack however, when the man, Professor Xavier, stops him using his mind. As he leaves, Xavier tells him that there’s a war coming and invites him to his school. He also tells him that he won’t remember this meeting. Once he has left, Sabretooth leaves the cabin but knows that a war is coming.

Comic Summary: A team of Avengers has just arrived on Genosha and finds themselves face to face with Exodus, who incinerates a group of humans right in front of their eyes. He introduces himself to the Avengers as Magneto’s heir and explains his philosophy of mutant superiority to them. When the Avengers don’t agree with him, Exodus calls the Scarlet Witch, Magneto’s daughter, unworthy of her heritage. Exodus take to the air but War Machine follows, leaving the rest of the team to deal with the mutates and humans fighting each other in the streets. Thinking that Cap and the Black Knight can handle themselves, Crystal uses the distraction to leave and search for her daughter, Luna, and the Scarlet Witch follows her to make sure she doesn’t kill anybody in her current mood. In the sky, Exodus further annoys War Machine with his views on mutants – human relations and, getting careless, the Avenger is easily defeated. However, Sersi then dares Exodus to test his abilities against an Eternal. In the Tunnels beneath the city, Professor Xavier, U.S.Agent and Beast uncover a concentration camp filled with hundreds of mutates, though before they can try to help the prisoners, they are discovered by the Magistrate Elite. Outside of Hammer Bay, the X-Men overcome Fabian Cortez’ bodyguards, the Unforgiven, only to discover that the Cortez they were fighting is a shapeshifter. Meanwhile, back in New York, Hawkeye and the remaining Avengers (Spiderwoman, Vision, Hercules, Black Widow) appear in front of the UN Security Council, who ordered them to stay out of the conflict, as the UN have not yet decided on how to deal with the situation. Hawkeye gets angry and asks whether the UN wants to waste any more time while there are people dying.

Comic Summary: In this reality, Wolverine did not escape Alpha Flight and return to the X-Men. Instead, he remained with Alpha Flight - but the X-Men turned back to Canada to rescue their teammate. General Chasen learned of this and sent word to Alpha Flight, wanting them to convince the X-Men to turn away, otherwise military action would be taken. But Northstar deleted Chasen’s message, and the X-Men were subsequently struck down and killed. This infuriated Vindicator, until he learned that the message from Chasen was deleted. Vindicator had the hard job of telling Wolverine the news, but he lied, claiming that he and Northstar tried to talk the X-Men around, but they would not listen. Vindicator managed to convince Wolverine to remain with Alpha Flight. Just in time as well, for the members of Beta and Gamma Flights had been kidnapped by Annihilus and taken to the Negative Zone. Wolverine led Snowbird, Sasquatch, Aurora, Northstar and Shaman into the Negative Zone and successfully negotiated the trainee heroes’ return. Wolverine continued to successfully lead Alpha Flight against other threats like the Master of the World, Sentinels, Mojo and more. However, after learning of a tragedy on Muir Island, Vindicator was contacted by Professor X, requesting Alpha Flight’s help in freeing Jean Grey from the clutches of the Hellfire Club. Wolverine led Alpha Flight on an infiltration of the Hellfire Club. Northstar worried that Wolverine knew he was responsible for the X-Men’s deaths, before Alpha Flight engaged Sebastian Shaw, Harry Leland and Donald Pierce in battle. Aurora located the remaining X-Men, before they were attacked by Jean Grey, now imbued with the power of the Phoenix, and the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club. Dark Phoenix taunted Wolverine and revealed to him that Northstar was responsible for the deaths of the X-Men, and that Vindicator helped cover it up. Dark Phoenix offered Northstar to Wolverine, but Wolverine managed to instead kill Dark Phoenix, as a part of Jean Grey reached out to him. With Dark Phoenix dead, the deaths of billions were prevented, and Wolverine agreed to remain with Alpha Flight, as he had made progress with the team - and personal progress with himself, and this world is a better place because of it. Comic Summary: The Watcher describes a reality where, thanks to an impassioned speech by Gabrielle Haller, Magneto and Xavier didn’t part ways, but decided to work together. Years later, Xavier and Magneto have done much to help global politics, but not as much on the mutant front. While Xavier has opened a clinic to help mutants, they have only found a few candidates, chief among them Sage, Kitty Pryde, Mystique and Wolverine. During a meeting with several political officials, Xavier receives a new patient, a comatose Jean Grey, accompanied by her doctor, Hank McCoy, who, as Sage quickly finds out, is a mutant as well, just like the Russian agent Vazhin leaves for them as liaison: Peter Rasputin. Kitty shows the two men around, while Lehnherr and Xavier examine the comatose woman and find out that in its own way her mind is quite active. In the meantime, Wolverine and Mystique have failed in stopping several mysterious trucks belonging to Larry Trask and the giant robots within the trucks start fly off to attack Xavier’s school. Xavier’s associates, as well as McCoy and Rasputin, begin defending the building. However, they are in for a rough surprise, when the robots begin adapting to their attacks and reconstitute themselves after an attack. Surprise comes from an unexpected quarter, as Jean awakes and annihilates all robots in a Phoenix raptor. Later, Xavier and the others discuss the attack and the new options open to them, as, thanks to the surviving robot, they now have a mutant detection system. Xavier suggest that they form a team of X-Men to deal with further threats and the future of humans and mutants. At the Hellfire Club, Larry Trask vows destruction to all mutants. And Sinister’s agents – Sabretooth, Havok and Cyclops – bring news to their master of the attack on Xavier and of Jean Grey’s awakening.

Comic Summary: Gabriel and his friends continued to fight for mutant rights and eventually gained them after defeating Magneto and his Brotherhood. Vulcan was praised as the world’s greatest hero. Some time later, after attending a TV show about his life, Scott, Xavier, the X-Men and Moira meet up with Gabriel and confirm to them that, thanks to the help of the Fantastic Four, they now know the truth about what really happened on Krakoa that day. The Silver Surfer located Krakoa in space and brought it back to Earth orbit. Xavier goes into Gabriel’s head to confirm it all, and sees that Gabriel killed the X-Men, though it was by accident. Though they are all angry with Vulcan, Xavier understands that, if they go public with this news, it would damage mutant relations with the humans again and the peace would fall apart, with nobody ever wanting to trust a mutant again. So, he and the others come up with a plan. They have Gabriel and the Surfer attend a press meeting, in which Gabriel announces that he’ll be going to Shi’ar space to fight for those people, even though they killed his mother. In reality, the X-Men exile Vulcan to live on the remains of Krakoa all alone. Still, they leave a dome for Gabriel to live in, and enough food so he can live until he dies of old age, if he doesn’t kill himself first. Five years pass and, thanks to Sway’s powers, Gabriel is punished by being forced to watch how he killed the original X-Men… over and over again.

Comic Summary: Arcade fantasizes how he’ll send out his androids to captive Wolverine. Mastermind, not having completely closed her psi-link with Arcade, senses this odd sensation and asks him what it was all about. Arcade lies about it, causing Martinique to doubt if she can trust her partner. She reminds him that she only agreed to help out because Arcade told her Wolverine killed his assistant, Miss Locke. Arcade tells Martinique to look at his now-destroyed face: Wolverine slashed through it after he was finished with Locke. That is all the proof she needs. Meanwhile, Wolverine realizes that he and Gambit have been played with, and aren’t really in Japan. He wakes a sleeping Gambit up, correcting that he didn’t really kill him earlier. Gambit blows a hole in the wall behind them, and they walk through it. With Martinique not gaining the truth out of Arcade’s mouth, she uses her psi-powers to enter his mind, and links Gambit and Wolverine as well. Due to this, they discover that Arcade killed Locke himself so he could set all this up. Martinique hates the fact she was used, and leaves a tormented Arcade behind. She disappears into fog, admitting she’ll have to live with the murders she helped commit for the rest of her live. Mysteriously enough, Wolverine and Gambit wake up on a bench and meet up with Inspector Andrews, who arrests Arcade for his crimes. He lets Wolverine and Gambit go. After visiting Alexandra’s grave, the two X-Men head back home to Xavier’s. Arcade is locked up in a London mental institution, where he has nightmares about Miss Locke operating an elevator.

Spiral cuts a deal with them that she will send them back in time to save the alternate version of Wolverine they found, if they will part with their cruise missile. They do and Wolverine hops on the missile and aims it towards Mojo. Mojo makes one final plea to Jubilee to be his slave but she fights back. When she does, she is freed from her shackles. Comic Summary: On the Blackbird, the X-Men fight, not only to save their lives from the rocky trip home as they return from outer space but also to save the life of their wounded ally, Wolverine. In order to help Logan’s mental trauma, Xavier and Jean travel into Logan’s mind, where they find that he is tormented more than they realized. In the astral plane, the two X-Men see Logan’s past attacking him. After watching scene after scene of Logan’s memories, Jean asks Xavier to terminate the psi-link with Logan, in order to not see anymore of his private memories. Back in the physical world, they learn the Blackbird is disintegrating around them. On the ground, Logan’s teammates frantically listen, as the plane begins to tear itself apart. Reluctantly, Xavier has to go back into Logan’s mind, because he is near death now and Xavier wants to try one last time to save his friend. Seeing Xavier, Logan pleads for him to let him loose and, reluctantly, Xavier does, leaving Logan to face the end by himself. Back on the Blackbird, stresses cause the hatch to open and Jean is nearly sucked out. It is Logan, however, who comes to her aid, after hearing her screams, which brought him back. With everything settled down, the Blackbird finally makes it back to the mansion. Two weeks later, the X-Men are training in the Danger Room when Wolverine walks in, asking if he can train too. Xavier, complying with Logan’s wishes, allows him to fight two battle drones alone. Wishing to end the fight, Logan releases his claws but, to everyone’s surprise, they are not covered with adamantium anymore but are bone, meaning Logan must have been born with his claws. A week later, Logan sits outside of the mansion with Jubilee by his side and the two discuss how each of them is going through hard, life trials, each in their own way. That night, Logan leaves the mansion, checking on Jubilee before he leaves. He lays a note on her dresser to tell her good bye. (Brief description courtesy of uncannyxmen.net)

However, upon hearing the name of her mentor, Stick, Gateway shows her images of when she was dead and how she was resurrected. Elektra and Wolverine agree that Gateway is showing them their worst moments to prepare them for the truth about Onslaught. Gateway then teleports them into the school to see pictures of various X-Men and then takes their astral forms to a different time. The two confused heroes find themselves observing the time when Magneto ripped out Wolverine’s adamantium. They witness how Xavier used his powers to wipe Magneto’s mind clean, but Gateway slows down time and sends them to the astral plane, where to their horror they discover that Magneto’s dark ego planted its seed inside Xavier’s mind in a fraction of a second, which is why no one suspected anything was wrong. Comic Summary: Kitty Pryde writes a journal entry about her first day as an X-Man. She describes her fellow mutants, noting that the only one she doesn’t understand is Wolverine. Professor X summons her to his office and assigns her to a mutant search-and-rescue mission with a reluctant Wolverine. Wolverine ignores her attempts at conversation and tries to ditch her when they arrive at their mission destination in West Virginia. Eventually, the two X-Men enter the town and are ambushed by hysterical townspeople. Wolverine goes into a rage, and a panicked Kitty runs away. She comes across a ransacked house that has been tagged with anti-mutant slurs, and finds evidence of a young mutant girl in the house’s family photos. She takes some clothing with the girl’s scent to Wolverine, who calms down and begins tracking her, using his heightened senses. They find Michelle, the mutant girl, lost and barely surviving in the wilderness. Kitty explains that Michelle got lost in the woods, then tried to send a distress signal, using her mutant ability to amplify emotions. However, all she did was broadcast her distress and it drove the town crazy. With the rescue mission complete, Wolverine and Kitty return home. Kitty overhears Xavier telling Wolverine that he assigned Kitty to work with him so Wolverine would soften up a bit. Kitty smiles at this, and concludes that this is the first day she has felt at home since joining the X-Men. As she leaves to go on a motorcycle ride with Wolverine, she comments that this is probably the first time he’s felt at home as well. (Brief description courtesy of uncannyxmen.net)

Comic Summary: Having decided that he’s waited long enough to face the truth about his past, Logan contacts Nightcrawler to talk. On the rooftop of the Cliff House restaurant, Logan repeats his history with Mariko. From the first time he saw her and saved her from being crushed with an earthquake, writing letters back and forth, discovering that she was married, his conflict with Lord Shingen and their unsuccessful attempt at being married. He then recounted the time when Mariko died at his own hands after she had been poisoned with blowfish toxin. Logan confesses to Kurt that he had killed her not because she wanted him to but because he didn’t want their love to die. Kurt proceeds to point out to him that she was going to die anyway and that she died on her terms, not his and that’s what he can’t handle. Logan thanks him for listening and after they exchange goodbyes, meets up with Daken, who will be joining him in his next mission.
